Incognigames + Random Rambling
According to Corbin, I need to do something for 284. Well, I got nothing, so I decided to offer some random late night rambling.
I've been out of electricity for a week and a half. Why? Well, we were waiting for an inspector to do her job and say we can get our electricity back on, she judges it by the wrong way and later admits she didn't inspect it right, and after four days of bugging her, she finally just calls the electric company and says, "They are approved". Didn't even reinspect or anything.
Anyways, thats not why I told you all that. I told you because of what I did DURING that time out. I replayed a 9 year old RPG for the gameboy advance called Golden Sun, and it's sequel Golden Sun: The Lost Age. Golden Sun has been my favorite game of all time since I first got it at seven years old. It's an all-around amazing RPG. If you have the money, I would definitely recommend it. If not, then I'd say get Golden Sun: Dark Dawn when that releases next month. It's a solid RPG, and really fun.
Now that I have my power back on, I have been able to play through Tornado Outbreak and write the script for the Incognigames episode based around that, and I've started Frontlines: Fuel of War. I'm trying to rush through while fully getting an idea of it, so I can get to Dead Rising 2, which I want to play for my own personal entertainment.
Well, that's it for my blog post. I'm hard at work on not only Incognigames, but also two unnannounced projects, and the plans for about seven games I want to make.

'Demo'litions: Vanquish.
Uhmmm... You do know the cup goes on the inside right? Even if it is metallic.
Vanquish is a 3rd person shooter from SEGA for those who do not know. It promises fast paced action and mech-suited super soldiers shooting the living hell out of each other. Does it live up to its promise? Find out.
Gameplay: The demo is set in a middle-story mission, in media-res demo wise, which you have to breach an enemy stronghold, base, or something of that sort. The controls are pretty tight to the character actions, although the button for ducking, A for Xbox and X for playstation, may seem a bit awkward compared to other 3rd person games.
Movement and combat is very similar to a Lost Planet game mixed with some jet shoes. Combat does take some interesting turns with addition of the jet-boots and high speed turns and flips. Melees are powerful and often taking a acrobatic route, like one of a backflip kick.
Story: Story wise, well, it lacks. There is very little in terms of introduction and you are just thrust into the mission. Very simple in terms of in-playing story, here are some bad guys, shoot them while swapping objective. One part has you running and gunning, while another has you defending an open plaza. The mission takes a turn for the worse when a big, transforming baddy shows up.
But likewise with Quantum Theory, just shoot the glowy/marked parts. After big-bad-demo-boss is defeated the demo just ends there, nothing else, nada. You don't even get to see the end of the mission.
But don't let my rantings deter you, it still is a solid demo and you should at least take the download to try it.
Overall: ****- (4-stars)
Sorry for the short revew, See yah's

Quantum Theory Demo/ First Impressions.
I guess it's time to review Gears of War, I mean Quantum Theory. Yes, this is Quantum theory (unfortunately)

This
Well... Where to begin? For one, from the demo, this plays exactly like Gears of War; same mechanics, almost the same controls, and a lot of the same guns. For example, at the start of the demo I noticed that the basic rifle they give you feels almost exactly the same as an early Hammerburst locust rifle.
The similarities don't end there however, a lot of the games sounds and animations look the exact same. The first time I picked up an ammo crate (which looks almost the exact same as the GoW crate) my character let out a deep "That's mine."
Sounds like innocent enough phrase right? Common enough, if it seems like the developers ripped it straight from Marcus Fenix's deep growl of a voice. Worse is the fact that the two games roll animations look dead on, and QT's sprint has the same exact animation as GoW's Roadie Run.
Enough about the mechanics though (I can chew those out when the game releases), It's time for the cutscene I endured opening this game. For the most part it sets itself up as a dramatic, GoW style "Last Stand" war and-
Holy Half-Naked Ninja Women!
Her... She just comes along and completely skewers any hope of this game being serious. I mean, this isn't a good picture in all, but seriously! This isn't Soul Caliber! Well apparently there is some war between the G.O.G.- I mean Gillskins (Good, human creatures. Not fish-men like I was led to believe) and Locus-I mean Nosferatu (Bad guys, some bestial humanoid, not vampires like I was lead to believe). Something about a giant Spire, that actually looks pretty beautiful inside. I'm starting to think the Gillskins with all their brown-and-Grey color pallet seem to be the villains for wanting to destroy this obvious piece of art.
One final thing to pick at is the cutscenes, or lack thereof. Most of the cutscenes describing something important like, I dunno THE PLOT! These cutscenes are pushed over in favor of "Hey look at how big this enemy is" cutscenes, in which the bosses are easily defeated (Pro-tip: Aim for the giant glowy spot!)
Well thats all for my "review" of Quantum Theory Demo.
Overall ---** (2/5 stars)
See yah's.

We're coming back!
We're coming back and I'm officially issuing a new short I like to call, "Incognigames!", name can change at a later time.
Well, here's what it is. There are a lot of games that don't get much attention. My second favorite game this year, Singularity, is one of these games. Whether it's because they work with activision, or just don't get marketed, they don't get much attention. As such, I will be doing this short when I get the chance and a game in, where I take these games and get my opinion on it, and then tell you all what my consensus is. What I am hoping to do with this is get these small games more attention, so they can be rightfully accepted, and to warn you all of the game you didn't know existed.
Anyways, heres a list of the games I have planned.
Tornado Outbreak - Konami
Naughty Bear - 505 Games* - see below
Earth Defense Force 2017* - D3P - see below
Frontlines Fuel of War* - THQ - see below
Destroy all humans: path of the furon* - THQ - see below
Autobahn Polizei - Conspiracy -
Cabela's North American Adventure 2011 - A:(tivision
Wolfenstein* - A:(tivision - see below
Jurassic: The Hunted - A:(tivision
Dark Void* - Capcom - see below
Darkest of Days - Valcon Games
Fairytale Fights - Playlogic
Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War - Koei
Conflict: Denied Ops - Eidos
History Channel: Civil War - A nation divided
* means that while it may not be a "small name game", it's definitely not a game that was marketed a lot.
